The Australian Prime Minister has just indicated that he is 'open' to recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moving the Australian Embassy to Jerusalem.

We reject the Prime Minister's statements on Jerusalem.

Far from being “sensible suggestions” these statements are wholly irresponsible and serve only to undermine fifty years of international consensus that Jerusalem must be a shared capital.  Australia is instead aligning itself with the erratic, reactionary policy of the Trump presidency.
