Since October 2023, Israel’s assault on Gaza has killed tens of thousands Palestinians and displaced millions. Despite the declaration of a ceasefire in October 2025, Israeli forces continue to breach it with near-daily attacks, bombing residential areas, obstructing aid, and re-occupying parts of Gaza City. Increased violence and illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank also continue at record pace. Yet, the Australian Government still maintains military, trade and diplomatic ties with Israel — offering political cover for an apartheid regime that continues to violate international law with impunity. International law is clear: states must not be complicit in genocide or apartheid. Sanctions are not an exceptional step — they are the minimum lawful response to such grave crimes. Australia has imposed more than 1,400 sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. It is past time to apply the same standard to Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. It’s time to end Australia’s double standard — and its complicity. Write to your MP today and demand that Australia imposes immediate country-level sanctions and a two-way arms embargo on Israel, severs economic and military ties, and supports international accountability for war crimes. Take action now — send your message and make your voice heard.
